Are you busting me, or being serious? ;D
You have to get 1 for each trap right? 100$ each permit + trap + bait + fuel...that's sick.
At the end of the day, it's more expensive to do it yourself(probably by a factor or 5->8times more expensive) than just going to an expensive restaurant and buying whole lobsters cooked.
I'm looking at it from a 'recreational' perspective. It's expensive to do it without the permit, but then another $100? It's just too bad.

Not busting you SIR
If you out all the time and can do it--WELL
They got you coming and going
Factor in the cost of buoys tags Etc.--Then finding them???????????---if you can when they are pulled up and gone--
May be OK for some but!!!!!!
Cheaper for diving gear????

You know it, it's crazy the cost when you factor in fuel!
It is cheaper for diving gear...I don't know if i could do it though. I think it would freak me out.

It's also cheaper to go to the grocery store and buy fish than to drive down to my boat and go out and fish. Never mind the cost of keeping the boat each year. It's about the adventure not the end result.
