Did some maint on the boat today and decided to hit the Mantalooking bridge area for some winter flounder. We really didn't stay long because of the blowing winds made it hard to stay still on the anchors but, managed to catch a handful of crabs in a short time. I would say we had 4 legals in 10 minutes on clam via the flounder rigs. I'm sure if we wanted to and if we had the time we could've put out hand lines and brought in a bunch. Looks like the season will be good.

Nice, I can't wait to do some crabbing this summer.
-
I think if I had a pot or two I could've had a bushell in no time.
-
they were out for about a month already, some locals said they never hibernated. I threw in 4 pots 2 weekends ago and I got a ton of crabs, but 0 keepers. I might soak 2 tomorrow into Sunday just to see if the size improved.

I'm going to have to soak my pot in the river tomorrow while I'm looking around outside the inlet. TT^

4 pots, 20 hour soak, only 14 keepers. All small keepers, but got a good taste for now.

Still not bad for April!

no, not bad for this time of year. I will wait another 2 weeks and try again. The tide was Very, Very low this weekend, even at high tide. That might have had something to do with it.
