I live a fe minutes away.  That's actually where I go to test swim plugs.  I tried fishing it a few years ago without any luck.
It is large, but only about 1/2 is accessible by foot.  There is a launch ramp, but I don't often see any boats on the lake.
Good luck if you try it and make sure you let us how you make out.

Crystal Lake is a manmade depression from mining on the property of Heritage Minerals off Rt. 70 further west.  It is deep into private property and access is trespassing.  It is a popular ATV spot, but I don't know anything about fish there.  From time to time the local PD does crackdowns on trespassers there as a result of illegal activities out there.

Yeah, usually the local teens go there to party but it seems most of them rarely return.   >:D

 Ha ha! ;D

Starting nearest to Route 9 and going west we have Lower Lake(aka Cedar Lake), Lake Barnegat and Deerhead Lake.  Further west is Bamber Lake.  There is a lot more undeveloped land out there.  Maybe that's where you did your quad riding?

That's crystal Lake.  It's in Manchester on the Toms River border.
