Title: Pops Soul 8-25
Post by: Pops Soul on August 25, 2007, 08:29:29 PM
Got to the boat around 10:00 am, Drew loaded the livewell with peanuts in 2 throws of the net. t^ Drew Says "It's going to be a good day. 3 on board me, Coyote Cal, and Drew for his last trip before heading back to school in Maine. Gave Irish Ayes a shout on my way out of the inlet and told him my float plan and was headed to Asbury park. Half way there Joe calls me and tells me of the big fish they just boated. Ok Big change of course and set up on a 154 degree bearing, 15 mins later we are on the fishing grounds near the Klondike. First Drift produces a couple shorts, Shorts in 70' of water 5hrug next years keepers! Next drift Drew lands a nice fish 26 incher, Current on the bottom must be strong, fishing with 8 oz of lead and fighting to hold bottom. After fishing with 10 ozs most of the day we decided to move in shore and hit a rock pile about a half mile out of SR inlet and Drew put a few more in the box. Coyote Cal had a tough day only landing shorts trying different combinations of Gulp and Peanuts and various other Christmas tree decorations... ;D I landed 1 keeper and left the rest up to Drew since he has to clean em. Ended up with a total of 5 keeper fluke and 1 Seabass. There was a nice school of bunker out in the deep water. It was a fun but tough fishing day t^

Joey Didn't see any thing smashing them. But they were moveing fast. They were actually between me and Joe (Irish Ayes) at one point and because of the swells I don't think Joe seen them.
