Title: 6/18 Cape May Report
Post by: fellinger on June 18, 2012, 07:01:07 PM
Staying the week in Wildwood. My girlfriend's nephew's 8th birthday is tomorrow so, he wanted to go deep sea fishing 'with the guys' for the first time. He and his dad and I jumped on the afternoon trip of a NS boat out of Wildwood Crest. We hit the Cape May Reef and did the drift thing. It was a consisten ok pick of small sea bass and a few fluke. We managed only a couple keeper sea bass, a cocktail blue and 16 1/2" short fluke.

The pool went to a 23+" fluke. A trigger was a close second. It was a good day on the water for the little one.

It wasn't a stellar trip by any means as the catching pretty much stunk. But, he really enjoyed himself being out with the 'guys' for the first time. He fishes all the time with his dad but, this was the first ever. It was a good day and conditions were favorable for a first timer.
