Left the dock at 0:430 this morning, With Jeff, Greg and Jason. Broke the inlet to a confused sea that made for a tough ride out to the grounds.. Noaa Blew yet another one..
Trolled.. Trolled and .. Trolled more.. with not a touch all morning.. As the radio said for most..
The sea started to lay down around 11:00.. Right around 12:30.. the bite turned on.. those that waited it out got fish. We went 3 for 3 on the Bluefin..
The first was a 36" That went in the box.. and from the direct head shot from yours truly.. turned the deck of the Phyllis Ann Red...
Next was a 40" that we released and Then a Tiny Tuna going under 27" that was released also. All of the multiple knockdowns had Monster Blues also.
Hot Lure was the Sterling Tackle Green Machine
Back at the dock @5:pm.. 150 Miles on the PA with 50 of it trolling.. 45 Gallons Burned t^
First trip with the Gopro.. No Under water shoots.. Ran all day.. but filled up one of my cards 1/3 of way thru the action in the second frenzy and didn't know it. Lost some great action..
Lesson Learned.. but some great footage .. nothing special.. But pretty Cool t^
Great Crew.. that worked very hard to put fish in the boat t^

Great Job! Rod slt. At 11:00 am we switched to sharking. I had to get the poles to bend for the guys. We caught three blue sharks before heading in.
I know I should have waited but I had a sick crew member.
Thanks to the crew Justin,Chris,Dan and Kyle.
Looking to return to the grounds next Sunday.

Freakin' awesome trip! Was a pleasure to fish with Rod, Greg, & Jeff again. A little chop heading out, which calmed down as the ride progressed. Made for an excellent day to be on the blue water. Even more excellent when the bite started! My tuna cherry got popped, and I cranked in the biggest bluefish I've seen. The camera doesn't do it any justice. Had to be close to 20 lbs. I was psyched when I saw that first bluefin show its colors as
Jeff cranked her in. Smooth seas heading back for the dock finished the day off nicely.
Learned a little more today about this kinda fishing. Sounds like there was a good amount of rain inland, so it was good missing that too. ;D Thanks again Rod & auto-pilot!

Yea.. Those Numbers come from Mileage and how many gallons to fill her back up.. I leave with a full tank and refill before I hit the Slip t^
When I posted that... I was wiped .. It was
150 Miles @ 48 Gallons = About 3 Miles to the gallon. That's My Good Average.
