Left the dock at 0400 with crew of Kirk, Neil, Wayne and Ted for a shot at the bfts after more than a month away from the salt. Decided to go for the big fish and get away from the crowd so we headed for the 30/40 line with hopes of a big bft. 6 hours later we were skunked and started to head west towards home. Finally we came tight on a bft that ate a rainbow Sterling bar and the skunk was off. Got a call from Captain Fred Gamboa of Andreas' Toy Charters who was a couple miles inshore and on the tuna. We rolled in and immediately hooked up on jigs. We threw some chunks and managed 6 more fish between the jigs and bait up to 40 inches. Fish ate sardines, stingos, hammered avas and gold cmt jigs. No overs for us but a respectable day on the water. God bless our troops! Pics to follow.
