Title: Gambler Thurs. 8/30/07
Post by: Bucktail on August 30, 2007, 09:16:41 PM
Got out on the A.M. trip on the Gambler today.

Headed south around Mantoloking (I think) in about 70' of water.

Started out with hardly any drift, but by the late morning we had a good drift going.  There were about 25 people on board.

I sorted through about 7 or 8 shorts to manage 2 keepers bouncing a Spro bucktail and teaser combo.  Pool winner was a little over 6 lbs.  There were probably 3 more over 5 lbs. (but thank goodness the big ones didn't bother my hooks). ;)

Saw a large pod of bunker not too far from the boat.  Was hoping to see if there were any stripes under them, but it wasn't my boat. ;D

Nice report Bob.  Too bad them bunker didn't get closer to the boat so you could give the stripers a try.
