Title: Lake O Bust...
Post by: Duffman on August 12, 2012, 05:00:27 PM
Screwed the Pooch this weekend. Just plain ugly.

Fished the tourney I posted about in the FW section a few months ago...had a grand total of ONE.......1......YES ONE king all day!  The "obligatory"  not for lack of trying applies here. We did everything and couldnt get em going.

The consolation was half the field drew a zero, so 1 fish was better than them... ;D....at least thats what we are telling ourselves.

Success of a weekend nonetheless. Always a good time with the crew. Got some brownie fishing in and did OK.  Knocked down an s-load of Clays post tourney to blow off some steam...along with contributing to Anheuser-Busch's bottom line.... >:D

howmany you got mail...some intel for ya

Hey Rick, Browns came on both flies and spoons with the spoons outcatching flies 3 to 1.

Silver/chartruese spoons paired with mountain dew colored chips did best.

Browns held tight to bottom in 85-90 FOW and ALL came up with raw bellies from rubbing bottom.

Storms an wind have bait and thermocline moving everyday, made it tough on the water.

Some areas between 500-600 FOW LOADED with alewives but not a king to be found by the fleet???... 5hrug

Yup.  Ran every color combo in the world trying to find something that worked. Orange and orange/white got no love at all.

Saw a color combo this weekend we never used before, the dodger was called the "Micheal Jackson"  ............ ;D

I like the Crazy Bi.ch and bloody death. They both seem to do well for me when the sun is out bright.
