Here is your extended NJ Fishing & Boating Labor Day Weekend Weather Outlook. The weekend will be a mix of nice weather and some chances of showers and thunderstorms on Sunday Night and on Labor Day Monday. However the chances are very low, mainly of scattered or isolated storms on Sunday and Monday day with the greatest chance of wider spread showers and/or thunderstorms coming Monday Night after the holiday weekend. Temperatures will be nice in the upper and lower 80’s and lows in the lows 70’s and mid 60’s. Water conditions are rated good for the extended weekend for all locations. There is not any forecast of small craft advisories in this period either, however on Monday Night winds will increase and seas will build to 2-4 feet. Increasing winds and high seas will likely carry over into the beginning of the week with small craft advisories possible for then.
Tropics have some activity, even with the departure of Isaac inland. We will not have to contend with Isaac, if at all, until after Tuesday and just as some rain. Then there is Hurricane Kirk and Tropical Depression 12. Both are being modeled to track eastward out to sea and will not affect the US at all. Tropical Depression 12 may track the closest to the US coast and will be the one to watch for any effects.
High pressure will dominate the area to start the weekend. On Saturday a weak backdoor cold front will push through the area and then stall to the south of the region. Brief high pressure will move back in on Sunday before moving northeast on Monday. Monday will start transitioning of the stalled front to our south moving north as a warm front.
