You bucktail and teaser tyers might be interested in this. Threadmaster has come out with a new one part rod finish called Threadmaster One. Nice leveling properties, same drying time as the two part expoy you may be using now and water wash up for you brushes. I just finished a rod with it and I am very pleased. It should work pretty well for covering the threads on you bucktails.

Its too slow for me. I use either a product put out by Loon Outdoors called UV Knot Sense or the traditional head cement the latter dries a tad slower than the Knot Sense but is still pretty fast. I usually only tie teasers and they get pretty beat up quickly and replacement is usually the case, not for the thread but because the deer hair get so beat up.
The Knot Sense is a UV curing product and sets up in a matter of seconds. I have not had any problems with this product other than I find myself tying more teasers than before because of its simplicity.
Happy Catching

Interesting stuff Phil.. I like the TM finishes for my rods too, but haven't tried this yet.. as a 1 part i guess it has a real long /unlimited pot life? that would make it real convenient.. Does it set up as hard as their hi-build, or is it closer to their Tm lite 2 part? Thanks for the info t^ chrz chrz

My got to stuff is 2 products #1 Zapa A Gap very similar the Crazy Glue on all my Flies for thread adhesive. plus the cheapest is Crazy Glue for flies that have a very short catching life. both are close in price, but not the mark up of Fly tying stuff. Bill
