Title: Pipe Fishin' 9/5
Post by: bukman on September 06, 2007, 09:36:40 AM
Joe and I headed out in the AM to find that NOAA lied AGAIN. 5-10 knot winds were more like 15-20 and the seas were not too nice. However we opted to fish cause there is not much time left to get freezer fluke.
We headed down to to the Manto Pipe, with intent to fish the length of it. While the wind was in it's "not supposed to be" mode, all we got were, again, BEAUTIFUL "shorts" that we could go to the Crab Shack and buy, THANKS to NMFS(et al). At about 11-11:30 the wind abated and we had the fish perfectly patterned, so that in 1 1/2-2hrs, we picked up 3 nice sized Cbass and 8 keeper fluke, of which 4 were in the 4# + class. Hope to get at least another day outa this season before it's blown away.
