The weather is looking good tonight for some back water kayak fishing.....Chance of light showers and winds out of the South should put just enough chop on the water to put the fish on the feed.
Looking to fish some of the shallow waters on the West side and get into the marsh areas that hold bait..... If the nights would just get colder I would feel so much better.
I just hope the water has cleaned up some after the weekend..... The back waters where very dirty on Saturday....

Anyone tried the float plan app for iPhone? I hear version 2 is coming out soon with a section specific for kayakers.

Hope you did well. as far a clear waters, get out now before that storm that may hit us this weekend screws it up . You mentioned a chop on the water, that is so true when the Raritan Bay south shore is Flat or calm The fish seem to get Lock Jaw but add some chop or white caps and the bite is on. Weather its churning up the Banks to release bait or they feel more comfortable coming in closer to the Shore line. Like In the Ocean Beach Surf. a rougher surf always seems better.

Was on the water by 11:00pm last night and the water was so calm with not even a ripple.......About 1:00 am the wind came out of the Northeast and put just enough chop on the water to get the fish active.
Its was like someone playing head games as fast as the wind started to blow it just shut down and that was it....
The back bay has a nice chop tonight so I'm heading back out in about 3 hours.......I will let you know how I do.
