Title: Smooth Dogfish in the IBSP Surf...
Post by: ped579 on September 09, 2007, 12:43:03 AM
Hi all,

Well I finally got out tonight and it felt great.  I took the family and set up just north of the North jetty where you can have a fire going.  While my wife and daughter and her boyfriend were getting the fire going I was getting my stuff together for a few hours of enjoyable fishing.

5 Seconds after the first cast the pole went nuts.  I set the hook and dragged in an 18" smooth dogfish.  OK its a start.  Re baited and cast out again another smooth dogfish.  Well to make a long story short I caught 8 smooth dogfish and lost about the same.

The largest was about 24" man they are strong.

I was satisfied with the evening.  I had fun and the family had their beach fire going.

Life is good...

Happy Catching

Paul

Glad you were able to get out.

I will take smooth doggies over nothing any day of the week.
