This just plain sucks. If the local phone switchboard wasn't down, I'd start the generator. Just about every transformer in town blew and trees down everywhere

My iPhone still works. Cables out. I think I have an old fashion am/fm radio in the garage. :headscra: I want to see whats going on in Manhatten. It can't be good.

Yep, phone post. My power is out but my neighbor has juice, so I'm able to get power via an extension cord for the fridge, cable, & tv. I can't draw too much because he is in Florida and if I blow the fuse, there is no way to reset the circuit from outside. I'll be giving him some cash towards the electric bill next time he comes up to Jersey, so its not like I'm stealing anything, its just neighbors helping neighbors. I've now learned my lesson, next storm I will have a brand New generator ready.

Generator powering just the fridge. Blew 1 surge protector up. Lol. Still no Verizon services. Attic vent, gone. Neighbors tree between the houses. But the good news is no flooding for me..........of course because I had a generator with 2 Sino pumps and raises everything in the basement on cinder blocks. Could be a lot worse. Now looking for more ice or dry ice to put in the big freezer
