Title: NJ Fishing & Boating Weather Outlook: Week Edition Nov 26-30, 2012
Post by: Pfishingruven on November 25, 2012, 04:28:59 PM
Weather this week will be seasonal and dry with the exception of Tuesday.  Tuesday into Tuesday night will bring a high chance of rain and possibly snow showers/snow.  Snow and snow accumulation will depend on the track of the low.  Currently, farther inland and north have a better chance of snow and accumulation of 1-3 inches.  Highs will get into the 40's with lows down into the 30's and 20's.  For the most part, water conditions are rated good, but vary by day and location.  Tuesday into Wednesday could likely see small craft advisories and even gale warnings with the exiting of the low pressure system off the coast.  The marine forecast models are not yet reflecting this forecast.  Surf conditions should be good all week in the 0-2 foot range except for Tuesday, which could see some rough surf conditions and higher waves.

High pressure will move off the coast on Monday allowing a low pressure system that is forming in the Southern Plains to move northeast and off the coast on Tuesday.  Two high pressure systems will then move into the area behind the low pressure system for the rest of the week.

Title: Re: Monday Morning Update on Tuesday's Winter "Storm"
Post by: Pfishingruven on November 26, 2012, 10:30:17 AM
There are not too many changes for the Winter "Storm" expected to hit the area on Tuesday into Wednesday.  This is going to be a weak low pressure system, tracking southeast of our area.  Max snowfall totals are 5 inches with north and western areas seeing a mix changing over to snow of 1-3 inches.  Areas east of I95 will only see around an inch of snow with coastal and some southern areas not getting any snow accumulation.  The biggest concern will be the morning and evening commutes, which could be messy, even by 7am for some areas.

Be safe and careful driving!

Here is the latest Snowfall Total Forecast from the NWS PHI.

You are likely to start off dry and the rain will pick up early to mid morning and continue throughout the day.  You should just see rain out in the ocean.  Water conditions look good with 5 knot winds and 1-2 foot seas at 11 seconds.  I think you may get some gusts in there, but it shouldn't kick up the ocean until later evening, if at all.  Your temps should stay above freezing as well along the coast and on the water.

Enjoy!! TT^

Storm track is shifting west and north some, bringing less snowfall to the area.  This brings less snow totals overall and shifts the rain/snow line more west and north.

Here is the latest snowfall total map from NWS PHI.
