I need this to pull in a 3 pound fluke.

where's a 3lb fluke? I can't find 'em....

Because you don't have the right reel. Just ask Shimano. ;)

Better have your drag set right. ;D
Seriously, if I had the money (which I don't), and if I had the opportunity to do more tuna fishing (although I'm grateful for the opportunities I do get) I would probably buy one. t^

I would buy a cheaper model and let them go to crap (one or two a year for many years and still save $$$) before I'd buy something that expensive. Come to think of it, I do that now. ;D

I think for inshore stuff that works (especially for someone with a personal reel mechanic). ;D But if you target multi-hundred pound bluefin tuna on spinning gear you might want the best you can buy.
If you have the money to do that on a regular basis, you have the money for this reel. Compared to the boat and fuel costs, $1500 is chump change. thud

I'm more the fa so la ti, lo do; gotta stay reasonable
I did buy a Tekota and I do like it, that's "a lot" of do re for me. Not spinning, or even in the same price league, tho

Here's the American version of the second video. Notice they replace the shots of an unknown (at least to me) Asian angler with shots of Larry Dahlberg from "The Hunt For Big Fish".
