Title: Daiwa SP Minnows
Post by: Bucktail on January 20, 2013, 01:10:09 AM
Just got these in.  I probably have enough minnow style plugs (Bombers, Redfins, Mambo Minnows, Beach Runners, Rebels, Yozuris, Mega Baits, etc. ad infinitum) to last me quite a few years.

However, I've heard some good stuff about these plugs from customers and some members here, that I think I may have to snag a couple and try them for myself. ;D

The finish looks terrific!  And at $9.99 they come in at a great price point, especially when compared to Yozuris. t^

HI Bob, been using the sp's for awhile. I love the way they cast ! they really fly ! They do need some modification. The split rings and hooks need upgrading. I changed to VMC 2/0 trebles and a better split ring. It's easy to do with a split ring pliers. I haven't caught any really big bass yet but had some big blues in the 15lb class last fall before Sandy. My favorite is the chartruese  ;D

Hi John,

Nice to see you posting again.  Haven't heard from you in a a while.  I'm not sure if you saw it, but Rod posted a photo of you with a slob tog a month or two back.

We don't have the chartreuse (yet).  Only that one in the pic, a silver side/purple back, and a green and a blue mackerel.

Thanks for the tip on the hardware.  If I do pick up one (or two) I will definitely take that advice.  I usually do upgrade the hardware on many of my plugs anyway.
