Left the dock in Edison this morning at 7am targeting weakfish. Beautiful morning although a little brisk for a center console. As we sailed under the GSP bridge we were surprised to see someone anchored off to our port near the bridge abutment. As we were passing the fellow aboard indicated that he was in distress and need help. I came up alongside him and he told me his steering was locked up and could I tow him to the dock which was about 500 yards away. I complied and as I was pulling away he couldn't thank me enough and threw some thing in my boat. About a minute later I reached down to find the guy threw a 10 and 20 rolled up. I circled back and told him no way can I accept this but he insisted and said use it for gas!!!!!
So the day started off extremly good. We motored across the bay and set up a drift in the channel before marker 19. Using worms on seabass rigs, myself, my son , and proceeded to limit out on weakfish from 3 to 12lbs. After about three hours it was catch and release. This was the best weak fishing I have experienced in my 52 years of dippin the hook

very nice catch.. is that the 19 can in the Reach. ?
-
yup, before the reach. All the party boats should be set up there. Make sure the dropper is about 12" long because the fish are reading about a foot off the bottom.
-
