Post by: kezsr on September 17, 2007, 08:33:18 PM
launched at Sayreville at 7:30,stopped at sailboat moorings just past the train bridge, looking for markings, found none, moved to Princess Bay area 33 35 buoy, word at bait shop did good there yesterday, stayed there for awhile not really marking anything, caught the smallest sea robin I ever saw,all of 3 inches and a giant 6 inch seabass.moved up the reach to where the fleet was, area 26 to 30 buoy. moved to an area off the fleet a little, first fish for Dave my fishing partner 20 inch plus fluke and then I picked a small fluke.then started marking fish,Dave caught a nice 24 inch weakfish, then I got a 20 incher, then everybody was there, like everybody fishing in a barrel, did manage 2 more at about 20 inches, sandworms were our bait, some boats did really good,I think we would have done better if there earlier, fleet moved out and up farther, stayed there, then moved to back bay, weaving through channel looking for markings but found none, tried chasing blue fish,no success.headed for home at 1:30.beautiful weather and beautiful day.great day on the water.
