Going to RI for cod this weekend. I have never been north for cod so I have no idea what to expect. I have a bunch of 6-10oz jigs I made but I am not sure about bait set ups. How far apart for high low rigs and how high up for teaser? Also should I add any glow beads or such? Any advise appreciated.

HI, I haven't been up there this winter but I think I can help. Most fishing is done with clams at this time of the year. Hi/lo rigs 5/0 ,6/0,7/0 is what I carry. Bottom hook is just off the bottom 6-12" .Top hook is 2 ' above that. All the extra stuff works too. Bring some squid skirts in pink or green plus twister tails . I like green glow beads above the hooks for a basic rig. Keep in mind dogfish love all this stuff so on some days just keep it simple. The old style 6/0 bait holder rigs with some small tubing over the shank have worked for me for 40 yrs. Yes bring a few jigs and have your 2nd rod set up that way so if a jig bite develops you're ready. Most winter Block island cod are 10lbs or less so small jigs 6to8 oz have worked best for me plus the twister tail teaser 2' above. Good luck !
