Title: Weakfish from shore
Post by: TedSki on September 22, 2007, 02:19:16 PM
I am thinking on taking my fiancĂ©e to do some weakfishing tomorrow.  We don't have a boat and my buddy already has 3 guys goin out to the reach with him.  So, a few questions:

- Where in the Raritan is good?  Any of the municipal piers?  What kind of bottom contour/structure/obstructions am I looking for?

- Since I can't drift, what's the best method?

- Are sandworms still good bait for shoreside fishing?

The only time I caught weakfish from shore was at Keyport municipal pier.

Used Peanut bunker at the time.

Their is a hole just within edge of casting distance straight out from the bottom floating dock.  You hit that hole with a live peanut, you WILL catch something.
