Now that you are over the 5 post mark check out the other forums like the members den which is open to you now.  There are guys out there fishing and catching.  Not much kayak wise though for the guys on the board.  It is way too early for me to go out but I am hearing the hard core guys are catching stripers via kayak just off the beach.

Hope this helps.

Happy Catching

There are small Bass in and around the Bay in Ocean County from 8" to 28" feeding on spearing.

I have not been able to get out in the kayak due to some medical problems the past couple of weeks....But should be good to go by the end of the month.

I have fished from land in the bay on nights I cant sleep and have found some small bass on plugs......Very small Bass at that.

Happy fishing

Judging by your earlier posts, I gather you don't sleep much! LOL

All I am going to say right now is that IBSP is hot.  All shorts, but the catch is on.  Clams are the key and small hooks in the 2/0 to 3/0 size on hi lo rigs.

Happy Catching

My favorite saying is " You can't catch em' from the couch!" Catch some sleep when you can and good luck fishing.

I've been hitting the rivers, not much to speak of right now though. There were some guys who hooked up nicely near the rumson bridge.

Right now would be a great time to get out and CATCH fish.  The bass are all over with many fish up to around 12 to 14 pounds being caught off the beach in IBSP.  Tons of shorts are around as well.  HI?LO Rigs with 2/0 3/0 hooks and fresh clams.  Just use the foot and cut that in half lengthwise and feed it onto the hook just like a small worm.

PLUS I just heard from a very reliable source that there are blues in the bay that are biting as well.  So if your looking to CATCH in stead if FISH, get out there,. it can only get better.

Happy Catching
