I saw this rig a bunch of years ago, but I can't remember where. An article maybe? :headscra:
Anyway, I was on YouTube the other day and came across this video showing the rig by Capt. Al Lorenzetti. It seems like a pretty cool concept, so I decided to make up a couple of them to try out.
And, if I ever get out fishing again, I'm going to do just that. ;D

For those who are interested, I used 9/0 Mustad Hoodlum 4X Live Bait hooks, size 6 Sea Striker duo lock snaps, 80 lb. Ande mono leader material, and some 4" zip ties.

Ok now call me crazy, but I've caught my share of bass with just the hook like he had it before he pulled it back out to replace with the clip....right through the roof of the mouth. Seems like a good idea, just not necessary IMO. Made me think about wrapping a zip tie around the base of the bunkers tail and inserting a hook under it to live line from a jetty when I want the bait to swim away from me

Don't be a hater Fish On. ovrbt ;D
I haven't even tried this rig yet. However, it seems to have some very positive attributes.
1. It should eliminate those times when the hook gets turned around in the bunker and winds up either rehooking itself, and thus burying the hook - or laying flat against it, impeding the hookset.
2. It should help conserve baits, by keep the bunker on your line, especially after a long period of time when the hook hole starts to get bigger and the bunker eventually works it's way off.
I will try it this season and let you know how it works. Of course, what do I know about bait fishing anyway? nts

Not hatin, I agree ;D t^

Last spring we tried using the zip tie trick on a bunch of trips. Have not tried this way though. We cut the tie on an angle and push it through the skin where you want it and the zip it around your hook. We tried many way and directions including around the tail with many mixed results.I did not like the hook in the direction that capt al has it. IMO if a bass swallows the bunker head first then how do you set the hook. We did not get out enough last year to test the zip tie bridle but now I will have to try this way too. rgmn

The ULTIMATE BAIT BRIDLE. can be bought online.
I purchased these in large last season and they work. I will put them to use this Saturday in the Hi-Mar Striped bass tourney. chrz
