Title: Raritan River in Flemington
Post by: gymrat987654321 on June 26, 2013, 11:17:13 AM
For the past few months I've been working part time in Flemington and drive past the river a few times a week. I always wanted to fish here but I've never fished a river before. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

Throw small rapalas and twitch them on the surface for smallies.

Or try eggs or spinners for trout.

This time of year you need to find the deeper holes.

If you wanna catch big smallmouth either go buy large shiners or do what I did by a cast net and catch the natural bait fish in the river or in slow moving water flip rock for crawfish! Or In a deep pool or Eddie where the river is slow put corn on a fish finder rig for huge carp! Pm me i fish all over the south branch and and the north branch or the Raritan I am always looking for someone to explore that vast river with
