Title: Nighttime Largemouths 7/9 & 7/10
Post by: Bucktail on July 11, 2013, 12:30:47 PM: Haven't been out fishing lately, so late Tuesday night, about 2:00am, I decided to hit a local lake for an hour or so. I caught three bass, including one that didn't want to get her picture taken. It shook the hook just as I was about to land it. It looked about 6 lbs. fcp I know, I know. The one that got away story. ;D

Went back last night to see if I could catch her again. No luck on her, but I did manage another five fish, the biggest going close to 4 lbs.

It has been a long time since I've done the night bass fishing thing. It felt good to get out there again. t^

Post by: ped579 on July 11, 2013, 12:35:44 PM: Sweet... I just got out my ultralight and was going to give the sweetwater a try myself. Its an old Shakespeare outfit that is about 30 years old but it is in remarkably great shape. All I have to do is change out the line on it which looks like about 4 or 6 lb test.

I sometimes like to fish the lighter line during the day, if the bite is tough. But, at night, I mostly fish with, at least, 12-14 lb test line in case I have to horse a fish through some unseen obstacles or to pull my bait free from a snag. t^

Al,

That's an original Lunker Lure right there. I must own over two dozen buzzbaits of various brands and styles, but that one is my favorite. It squeaks and runs just perfectly. I think I will have a good cry if I ever lose it. ;D

BTW, I went out and caught a few more on it last night. t^
