Any thoughts? Thinking of picking up the mid sized version (I think its the 3500) and matching it to a 7 ft stick to use from the boat.

You can go with the longer pole in that model but I like to keep my boat poles under 7'

Hi All,
One of my all time favorite reels.
Has caught 50lb. stripers; a 60" bluefin; and tons of other nice fish.
One of the best values in fishing (along with the Penn 500 Jigmaster).
I have 50 lb. Power Pro on them. See Capt. Rod's reply above for the rod.
Best wishes,
Capt. Ed
