The weekend will start off with warmer temperatures and higher humidity with chances of showers and thunderstorms, some even strong to severe on Saturday. By Sunday slightly cooler temperatures, drier air and no rain in the forecast will start a stretch of good weather. As Captain Carl stated "looks like some great weather is heading our way(sun, mon and tues look awesome!)" This might be the first time Captain Carl and I have agreed on something weather related :P ovrbt! High temperatures on Saturday will range from the mid to upper 80's with possibly some 90's inland. Overnight lows will be in the mid to upper 60's with mid 50's across northern areas and higher elevations. By Sunday, the cold front will bring highs in the low to mid 80's with overnight lows in the mid to upper 60's again with upper 50's across northern areas and higher elevations. Humid air will continue through Saturday and on Sunday some slightly drier air should make humidity more comfortable. Water conditions are rated good for all locations all weekend, however with the passage of the a cold front on Friday into Saturday winds could gust to 20 knots and seas could increase to 3-4 feet with some 5 foot waves possible. By Sunday winds will drop and seas will subside to 2-3 feet. Water temperatures have decreased by a couple of degrees for most areas. Rivers and bays are in the mid 70's, inshore and midshore ocean waters are in the low to mid 70's with offshore waters in the mid 70's and surf temperatures in the low to mid 70's. Surf and beach conditions look good this weekend with likely low risks of rip currents, although a moderate risk is possible on Saturday with some rougher, elevated surf possible.
A cold front will slowly approach from the west and move through the region by early Saturday. This front will then stall to our south through Monday with a few waves of low pressure possibly moving along the boundary.
Next week will be a very repetitive week, with conditions much like Sunday. Highs in the upper 70's to low 80's with mid 60's overnight and mid to upper 50's across northern areas and high elevations. There is a chance of some showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday right now. Water and beach conditions are looking good too for the week.
The NHC is still watching an area of interest in the southern Caribbean. We are approaching the peak of the Atlantic Tropics Season and so far things are quiet.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the nice weather!
