Good news! This is a nice little lake. t^
The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife recently stocked an additional 400
largemouth bass averaging 4 inches in length, and approximately 5,000 black
crappies averaging 2 inches, in Prospertown Lake (Ocean County). The stocking
continues the Division's restoration of game fish populations which began in the
spring. The Division also plans one last stocking in late October of bass,
bluegills and channel catfish.
The lake, located within the Prospertown Lake Wildlife Management Area, had
drained following the failure of the outlet structure in September, 2011. The
lake was refilled over the fall and winter and stocked with 1,170 trout for the
2013 spring season.
Anglers can anticipate good populations of catchable size bass, sunfish and
catfish during 2014, but are welcome to enjoy the lake now. For more
information see http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/news/2013/prospertown_restock2.htm
on the Division's website.

This lake is one great lake even though a of it is on private land. There is a small boat launching area and a small pier with land fishing on the parking lot side and across the earth dam side.
If you have a small row boat, canoe or kayak your good to go on this lake as it is a no motor lake.
As Bob mentioned the stocking has been taking place and next year should be fun to fish it once again. There use to be some good size largemouth bass in there but once the failure occurred that was a disaster for freshwater fishermen.
I am looking forward to getting back on it again.
Thanks Bob.
Happy catching
Paul
