Title: Any HVAC guys here?

Have a quick question for any hvac guys here, i have a 4 zone system, its a boiler with baseboard heat......One zone isnt getting warm, and im thinking its because of air in that line....now i can bleed the lines, as every zone has a seprate bleeder valve in the basement.....question is, should the heater (thermostat) be off or on when i bleed the baseboard heaters?

on you want the water flowing to move the air, if its not air thats causing it it may be the zone valve

Are zones controlled with single pump/zone valves or single therm/pumps for each zone?

We need to know that...

I have 3 zones with three pumps...no zone valves..

If you have zone valves on yours you will have to manually turn them in the on position to bleed them...

You can also manually open the valve to see if the the heats works on that zone. If it does then look at the control side of that zone. It may not be air, but a stuck zone valve or the coil on the valve.

hey! bleeding a hydronic system is best at the high points furthest from the boiler. Pull your covers and see if there is a bleeder(in the living space)
