I always carry a small calapsable ultralight rod in my bag that I use for snappers. The plan today was to catch a snapper and live line him in hopes of something bigger. Before leaving the house I made sure I had my snapper lures and my 9ft rod for the live snapper. I drive to the spot, walk a little less than a mile, go to take my snapper rod out of my bag, and I can't find it. I suddenly remembered I took it out of my bag a few weeks ago for the first time in about 4 years. I spent the next hour casting a 9 ft surf rod with 20 lb line and a 1/8 oz spoon. Needless to say I didn't catch anything. Lesson learned, double check that you have everything before leaving the house.

Great advise.

Lesson learned, but bet you'll still repeat such things. Just this year went 30 out and then found out the spreader bars where still in bed of the truck.
Wasn't the first for me, and surely not the last.

Happens to me all the time. Every time I leave the dock I laugh and ask myself " Wonder what I forgot today" :headscra:

lol one dark dank morning we got out past the sailboats and headed mostways to the 20rockpile before realizing we left the rods on the dock. At least we weren't headin for the reef that day...
doh- good thing it was way early, people are basically honest, and Ya Sista's A$$ can fly when she has to...
disaster averted

We drove over an hour to the ramp and forgot the bait. rgmn It was a good thing the Shoprite down the street sold squid since the fish were not chasing plastics.
