Title: Tony Maja Bunker Spoon Keels??
Post by: fellinger on October 28, 2013, 08:00:01 PM
I trolled a TM bunker spoon for a very brief period of time on my last trip and lost a keel. This was probably only the 2nd or 3rd time trolling this particular spoon. I realize things come loose but, really this soon? I would have expected something a little longer lasting from a $40 spoon with the reputation that TM carries. I now have to assume the screws are not pretreated with Locktite and will remove the screws from any additional ones I buy. Can replacement keels be purchased??

If you email Tony and explain to him what Happened. I'm sure he would be happy to send you out a couple new ones..  He is the greatest guy you could ever deal with t^

You can find his email address on his NJSWF profile. He usually gets back to you quick.  I remember him telling me to put locktite on the screws too.  I'm not sure if those instructions are on the packaging though.

I picked up some keels at west marine last year. they come in packs of two, don't remember the cost but I remember it wasn't much. As for losing the keels yes I was disappointed too that it came apart. I forget if the replacement keels come with new screws or not.
