Title: Top Water Bass Fishing Around The Sedge at IBSP
Post by: kayak1 on November 15, 2013, 09:04:37 AM
Had the chance to spend some time fishing the back side of Island Beach State Park....

The sedge grass is loaded with small bait fish this time of year....and we all know the back bay has some nice bass fishing in the fall.

This area is beautiful to fish with the kayak because of the shallow waters....and the Sedge banks hold nice fish every year.... while out I fished SP minnows and My favorite the Mambo Minnow....along with a mess of soft rubber baits.

I just knew the fish where there but couldn't by a hit on anything I used..... I had just picked up a small Pencil Popper that morning for use in the spring for bluefish in the bay.....So let's give this bad boy a try....First cast and three jerks of the rod the water boiled under the plug.

This was an awesome kayak trip....Because this fish wanted to chase something on the surface of the water.....Early morning the water was like glass and to see these Bass chase down the pencil poppers was a site to see.

Get out and Fish
