Hi All,
Well the timing is just about right.
The Moon is NEW, the air temps are going down, barometer is going up, the water temp has dropped below 70 degrees and falling nicely, the bait fish are on their fall migrations, what else can you ask for in the early fall.
So, who will be hitting the beach this weekend?
I will be trying to get our tomorrow before dawn and see what happens. Thats if we don't get back too late from Saturdays Comp. tonight. If I go it will be to IBSP or if I get lazy Ortley Beach.
All the ducks are pretty much in a row, now is the time to be on the beach until your fingers fall off from the cold in December.
Happy Catching

I'm heading out to Sandy Hook tonight. I'll be fishing the beach at the last parking lot. I plan to arrive around 10pm (High Tide) as long as our evening guests head out early enough!
My plan is to do some jigging and possibly some bait on another rod. Any recommendations on bait are greatly appreciated.
I may head down there for this afternoon's low tide to scout out a spot. Haven't been to that beach in over a year, so I gotta go read some water.

Hi TedSki,
Good idea on going early to scout the beach. I will be plugging and moving so I am not sure if I will be using bait but if I were going to use bait my choice would be one of three; clams, bunker chunks and / or eels, not necessarily in that order.
I love top water plugs especially when you can see the fish slam into one. It is almost like buck fever.
I am going to try and be out there for the dawn run, I'll see.
