Had real high hopes today, after the three day blow and the water/air Temps dropping figured it would be a good day for the bass. Yeah Right.
Was blowing a little NW this morning, clear and cool, water Temps 65......started at the rips around 0645 hrs....zippo...did have any hook ups nor did I see any other boat hook up. Shifted over to the clam beds, figured after the bottom churning up and the dredges ut there the Bass wuld be feasting.....again Zippo.....never saw a fish landed on another boat.
Went down to the Pipe, Zippo...
Shot back to between the channels, Skates, Dogs and Birds.......no Line Siders.....Finished on Flynn's and another Zippo.......
Took a second group out for and evening trip, Rips, nadda, Clam Beds Nadda, Worked the Reach, Nadda..........lots of time, effort and miles, ZERO.
Felt bad but also noticed no other fish landed near me either on Head Boats, Private Charters or Private boats......Go Figure 5hrug 5hrug

was out today myself on some of the same areas...couldn't even hook up with bluefish let alone stripers.
sounds like an all out effort though.

Same story here (see PP canal thread). The Manasquan River seemed dead today. Tried a few different spots that are well-known producers, and nothing at all. Didn't boat one fish all day. Ugh.
I'm hoping tomorrow will be better, or at least some spots during the week when there won't be much boat traffic.

Wow, rough day had by all.
Not good, but I can feel it in my bones starting tomorrow things should start the turn around. (I hope)
Good Luck Guys.
Happy Catching

Tons of bluefish and birds working in the back bay Saturday off Keyport. Thought there might be some bass on the bottom but no such luck. Some of the blues were monsters. Did manage 8 small bass 19-24 inches on structure with swinbaits. Lot's of fun.
