Went on a non-sponsor boat out of Sewaren today for some bottom fishing along the green side of Ambrose Channel, near the Verrazanno narrows.
Perfect day to be on the water, drifted for porgy's, 4 guys caught over 40 almost all keepers, two keeper weakfish, one kingfish, cocktail blues. Sea Bass in the mix, and two fluke who didn't know the season was over.
All were caught on porgy rigs, except for casting for the blues with Krocs, when they thrashed through the area on several occasions. ;D

Also, there were a half dozen boats drifting other side of the Verrazano bridge on the SI side of the Narrows, apparently for weakfish.
We read quite a bit of activity on the bottom, when we caught the weaks. They were caught on salted clams....wish we had worms on board.

Should have rigged up a 3x3 weakfish rig and used the croc as the hook. Jigging weakies can be fun and very effective at times. t^
Seems like you did alright anyways TT^
