The big trip in Venice FLA on Fish Galore with Cpt. Joe Miller finally happened. Big Al and I met at the boat ramp at 06:30 hrs along with another pair of anglers, shoved off and headed out to Sabiki up a bunch of bait. A short two stops later we were running off for the deeper water. Al was quickly treated to what this boat, Capt. and fishing were going to be all about with a n ice sized keeper red grouper. I met the Capt after seeing a spotlight article about his fishing adventures in Saltwater Fisherman. From there it's been light's out fishing year after year with him when i return to the sunshine state. I was able to land a nice keeper shortly after and the #'s began to climb. Stop after stop, grouper, lane snapper, red snapper and others, sharks, who unfortunately would eat fish being raised from the bottom before they got into the boat. At one point we thought we had hooked a long cobia but it turned into a Dusky shark. A few more stops on the day, more drop and reel grouper, snapper and some more pesky sharks before it was time to head for home. Another great trip with Capt Joe and some nice meat to take back to the beach house and cook up. and eat. And now? Time to get some well needed sleep!

Here's a couple more pics from the adventure now that I had a couple hours of sleep....looks like I put up the wrong sunrise shot, that was from a tuna trip previously... :headscra: ....here's a couple more of Al fighting a fish and with first snapper caught. A Sharkbite jig painted in Bluerunner color scheme foiled a nice grouper. I believe the final tally was well over 50 Grouper with the various species caught, lost count of the snappers between mangrove and other species with one real nice red snapper I hooked into but couldn't be kept by the boat, several sharks. Just another great trip out with the Capt who spares no expense. We ran to 110ft @ 37 miles off and kept moving all day. If you're in this area of FLA I would highly recommend trying to get out with him.

The good thing for me is there are bikes here to ride the length of beach every day and a small gym right outside my door to use every day before the peeps wake up so I can stay on track while we're here and I consume massive amounts of calories.....Grouper , Snapper and Shrimp tonight were the fare on the menu....
