I heard from someone who was there (but did not witness it himself mind you) a nice 49.5 lber was hauled in to the beach at Montauk this past weekend.... Also heard the bluefish were brutal as well...

Montauk I believe is the first to witness or start catching stripers..

Actually,... The big fish stay up north all summer long. When the fish leave montauk its time for us to start catching. But fr some reason alot of the big fish like to stay offshore.
