New party boat trying to break in to the business. The Sea Hawk with Capt Mike at the helm will be starting to sail this saturday from the Perth Amboy Marina.
Will be full day, leaving the dock at 7am and returning 3pm or later.
Will be targeting porgies, sea bass, and blackfish.
Clams and green crabs will be supplied.
You can mapquest 275 Front St
Perth Amboy, NJ 08861-4416 and that should put you right in front of where the boat docks.
Young captain that was first mate and fill-in captain for the old Sea Pigeon.
Can't wait to get out with him, but moving and fixing the house has precedence ::)
Will be out there soon and hopefully putting plenty of fish over the rail.
Great time to become a new "regular" on a boat. ;D

Mike, do you know when he plans on stopping sailing this year or does he plan on going through out?
-
Also, how much are the trips running?
Is there a link to a site?
Thanks, this is close for me!
-
No website yet or he'd have up a link to here TT^
I think I was drafted to get that all going :o
Fares? Not sure on exact amount but would infer that they'd be no more than other boats in the general area(Atl Highlands, Keyport, Morgan, etc)
Full day, probably $45 adult fare. Will more than likely be running some specials like any new business does.
Pretty sure he'll continue to sail for as long as the weather allows or at least into Jan.
He'll be switching to blackfish come 11/15.
I have him chartered that following saturday the 17th(all booked) but going to see about a few more.
We took the boat out this Summer when he was temporarily docked elsewhere on a crew trip and did pretty well t^
-
Also added som seabass to the catch t^
-
Tell him we wish him all the best and to make sure he links up so we can get his reports and he gets the needed exposure. Will help with anything I can should he so need... t^
-
Good post Gottog. Always good to hear of more boats coming into the area. I wish him all the success in the world. t^
-
He's a good kid and is chomping at the bit waiting to sail. Quite a few old-salt PB captains tell me he's nuts to get into this in today's world 5hrug
Keep your eyes peeled as I'm gonna try and get a few "special" trips there...sort of "grand opening" specials t^
-
Nice Gottog. I am always looking for a good tog boat. About the only thing I jump on a party boat for. I'd rather be out in my own. t^ But that will be put to bed on the 20th of Nov. :'(
-
We could always arrange a NJSWF Tog charter on the New boat to welcome him to the fold..... grtn
-
Count me in. t^
-
I do believe Hareball and I would be able to make the Trip.
Good Luck to the Capt. with his new venture.

And you betterplan on a return for Spring when Striper season kicks in Raritan bay!

Except for Dec 15 and 22, count me in.

Sea Hawk was able to get out this past Sunday. Went with 8 fares as the captain was just itching to fish.
Porgy fishing at the reef was a bit slow, but the ones they caught were of jumbo size. Moved out to some seabass drops and had lots of action but had to cull through many shorts to get some keepers. Crab dunkers had a good pick of tog going, keeping their 1 fish and releasing 3-7 keepers per person.
Hopefully I'll get out this weekend with them and speak to the captain in-depth about a charter and becoming a sponsor here. TT^
-
LMK which day you go out Mike.
-
GT...Can you please post directions?
-
Nice report Gottog. I hope he is receptive to a charter soon. t^

Pretty much you'll be coming in from Rte35/Convery Blvd onto Smith St...take that ALL the way down to the end which is the old ferry slip, make a right and it's the first parking lot on the left.
Probably shooting for this saturday, but the conditions will be the final determining factor. Won't say the "W" word as it's a sure jinx.
He'll be receptive to the charter, just gotta pin down a day. thud

Day after Xmas charter anyone?
-
He sailed today with just 6 fares. Slow pick of porgies and said the wind kicked up pretty firece.
He gave me the choice of dates. He'd much rather do a sunday, but will do a saturday if that's what is best for the majority.
Need to figure out a date as I mentioned early/mid Decemebr weekend.
I capped my charter that's coming up with him at 20 people as that gives plenty of room to move about. $50 a person.
Let me know what's best and I'll put it in motion.
-
Pretty much any day is fine for me. TT^
-
Let me know and I will be in....someone has to give Capt Joe his Geritol rofla rofla rofla
Love going n another boat, I can relax t^
-
rofla
Should really be a weekend. I'm sure more would be able to attend t^
Sounds like a blast.
