I didn't see or read anything that mentioned fishing clothing..but I have a novel Idea; Why not do something about bringing back American made clothing and while there at it do something positive for the textile industry here that is practically diminished. I'm all for promoting American Industry first. USA USA USA.

I think fishing clothing would be included in the following:

"The bill would allow duty-free treatment and reduced tariffs on certain knit and woven recreational clothing such as water-resistant jackets, shoes and pants."

I would agree with your position on trying to bring back American manufacturing.  High tariffs on imports are one way to create a level playing field.  I can only assume that even with tariffs "as high as 28.2 percent" the foreign makers are still winning. And, perhaps, these tariffs are becoming just another a cost being passed down to the consumer, rather than a way to encourage domestic manufacturing. :-\

Bucktail: Both of your points are well taken, I think it would be great if that 28.2% was utilized to boost the textile industry but as you mentioned it's not getting to the right people.

Quick story about the DAV, which I am a member of. I purchased some clothing from them a few years back..made in China!! I was so pissed when I saw that on the clothing that is supposed to represent the Disabled American Veteran; That I called them and said what is going on,why are you not supporting US manufactures..there answer. It would be more expensive thd Last time I bought anything from them. Problem is price has become more important then the country we fought for and died for.
