Had a nice visit from Phil and his wife today, we exchanged advice on rod building and planting Garlic.

Oooops didn't mean to open that can of worms ::) But it was a very informative visit and I almost forgot to mention the RU Mer reel you gave me as well THANK YOU Phil! Ruth and I really enjoyed you and Dona's visit.

By the way while I'm still on that subject. The black thred we discused, was it silk in 3/0?

I haven't used a lot of silk. Usually silk is used for light fly rods and such. Not such- it may need a color preserver.

Phil I went with the nylon thred in "D" color is coal black. They also talked me into trying there brand of epoxy finish...they clame it is twice as strong as other brands. I know fcp I'm a sucker for a sails pich hhppy
