After missing 2 weeks of fishing to boat issues and howling winds, bngh My bro and I took off yesterday and today and took out our frustrations on the local fish population..We where joined by our buddy from Trenton, and got out of Keansburg around 7:30 tues am. We headed towards the Knoll and set up to troll with 2 shad umbrellas on wire outfits and a Bomber 26A down the middle on braid.. We did'nt get more than a few hundred yards when we had our first knockdown....bluefish...we proceeded to hammer blue after blue for about 3 hours..many doubles..Fish from 4-10lbs.. we couldnt fish more than 2 rods..wanting to find bass, we left the blues snappin' and headed towards Romers at the top of the tide.. but did'nt find much, so headed back toward the hook just at he start of the outgoing..As soon as the tide got movin we started banging away again..only this time, Bass! We landed about a dozen bass and a few blues in the next couple hours..all short to about 26".. We had a several doubles and even some mixed bass/blue doubles..We finally quit at about 2:30 as my buddy had to go skin the buck he got the night before..Today was more of the same, only even better!.. Got out about the same time, but headed back to where we left the bass the day before..and there where plenty home..for awhile it was ..get the rigs down..run 100 ft..fish on..Mostly bass 22-27 inches..could not buy a keeper!!..oh well..still loads of fun..A few blues mixed in..went non-stop till about 11:30 when we where all about spent..ran to the S. rocks and out to the Rattlesnake, just to take a ride and rest..listlessly drifted for seabass and ate sandwiches until about 1 then ran back towards the hook for another round..More of the same..fast action on short bass and blues..Really never marked too many big piles of fish either day..but plenty of fish scattered and good pods here and there..little bird action seen..Blue,/white , chart., and black and pearl shads all worked fine..Had a few fish on plugs..mostly Bomber 26's in Black/chrome..but usually could keep the 3rd rod in...had one big fish on it though that pulled before we got a look at him..water temps 57-59 deg..Finally had enough at about 4 and headed for the barn..took home about a dozen smaller blues over the 2 days..(keeps the Sicillian relatives happy ;D ) Beautiful weather and a hot bite..a truley great couple of days TT^

Good day! Congratulations! t^
I'm heading out on the Gambler tomorrow. By the sound of most of the reports on here I got a feeling he will be heading up that way for his first striper trip of the fall.
I hope we can get into some of the good action you had.

My friends and I had a good experience on that boat a few months ago. One of the things that's really gotten me involved in this sport.
Good luck!
