I want to get this out before the Outlook is complete. Monday will have a mess of wintry precipitation. Inland areas could see freezing rain/ice, a mix and snow. Areas west and north of the I95 Corridor could see 0.01-0.25 inches of ice accretion/accumulation on surfaces. Any amount of ice is dangerous and will cause hazardous surface conditions. Be careful walking and definitely driving on any iced surfaces. In addition, Northwestern areas will see accumulating snow. All areas, including coastal areas could see a wintry mix as well. Coastal Areas, east and south of I95 will mainly see rain, however, test those surfaces before stepping out onto them or driving. Up until this morning, the entire state was included in the ice event. The last major icing event in the state caused high numbers of slip and fall injuries sending record number of patients to the ER, as well as motor vehicle accidents and even fatalities. The timing on this will be Monday after midnight into early Monday Morning and the morning commute, so this will increase the impact across the state.
Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for all of the Counties west and north of the I95 Corridor for this freezing rain event.
Be safe!!
