Hi All,
Just to let you know the area from Brick beach to IBSP are loaded with blues being caught right now. Low tide was 12:30 or so and there was a whole lot of bait everywhere.
Swimming plugs and AVA's seem to be the ticket. Blues on a fast retrieve and maybe Bass on a slow retrieve.
If you get a chance get out now...
Happy Catching

Hi All,
Well there was a sort of mini blitz this afternoon. There were blues right up against the beach no more than 20 feet out being caught on primarily Krocodile lures in the 1 1/2 oz 2oz range.
The blues were averaging about 10 to 15 pounds. Unfortunately I did not catch any but I did manager to help one nice guy that was having trouble with his drag land a nice 12# blue. Got to love those grippers with the scale in them.
I guess it would be wise to mention that this time of year it would be good to check your equipment and do a good cleaning so you don't loose that big one from faulty equipment. Because I fish right into the winter my fun is not over so around this time each year I go ever all my equipment and re-lubricate everything.
Good job to those who caught fish today, it was a beautiful day and even though the beach was crowded this evening everyone worked with one another to make it all work TT^
The primary catching spot was right off the steps at the Lifeguard Headquarters in Ortley Beach

Hi All
No, I had it but with the cold and all decked out in my surf duds, I usually don't carry the camera. Its too expensive to get wet and I usually get wet. I get right into the surf and by the time I'm done I'm wet as well.
So if there is a blitz that is worth shooting I have to weigh the situation and make a decision do I fish or do I take pictures. Being this week and finishing next Weekend it is my daughters last big Competitions so no fishing on a regular basis.
Giant Stadium Tonight and next week Baltimore for the Nationals at Raven Stadium and them I'm DONE!!!
I hope thud

Paul,
I hate to break it to you, BUT, when you think it is over, it's just starting again, but with something different. TT^
-
I hope not, but yes there could be Winter Guard but I have to think positive. No Guard... bngh
Again if there is I will be there for her till she finishes HS in the spring.
Then college, which she opted to go the OCC for the first 2 years and get her core classes out of the way before heading south to Savannah College of Art and Design. At least there I can go fishing on Tybe Island which is only 10 - 15 min away.

w00t w00t Good luck at the competiton DAD. You won't regret it. Everyyear I get to listen to the Jet drives screaming up the river inchase of stripers while I sit at the ball fields watching my boy play baseball on 3 different teams bngh bngh I HATE BASEBALL :P

I hear Ya,
But when I see these kids especially yesterday performing in the cold rain last night and watching them spew their hearts out on that field I just want to grab each and everyone and give them the biggest hug I can muster up.
It was raining so hard that at one point in the show the kettle drummer was getting soaked every time he hit the drums, getting slammed with water from above and from below.
One more to go, next week Baltimore, Raven's Stadium. thud

Fished Point Pleasant beach 6:30am till 9:30am today. All the blues you can handle. Lots of people fishing and I saw just about everyone hooking up blues. No strippers, but plenty of blues and bait.

Nice job,
That was the same as last week, all blues except in the early morning just before sun up when small stripers would show up.

fished ibsp today from 5-10 in da morning nothing on clams but had about 20 small stripers and blues on plugs.
-
Nice job. I'd rather catch them on plugs than bait any day. t^
-
That is so true. I just love when they slam into a top water plug, it gets the old blood pumping and the fingers tend to warm up instantly.
Happy catching

They look like the big ones. Lots of fun to catch. Nice!!!

I am hoping that it clears up enough to get out before Thanksgiving. Other wise I won't be able to get out till next Monday. Family obligations come first. And that means traveling back down to MD. again.
Happy Catching
