Rode out the low tide in Shark River and started out a little later on the breezy Saturday morning. Met by small chop in the ocean with the 10-15 knots blowin'. Checked in with some of the early birds who shot up north and didn't sound like too much was going on. Decided to save some gas and hang in the church area. Moved around in 57 to 58 degree water all day. Drifted over the marks and had some bites and hangers but lost a few cranking up. Managed a 16 incher on a Sharkbite chartreuse teaser and a few skates. Fished in the area with Skip on Pops Soul most of the day and watched him reel a few in to the boat. Warmed up for a nice ride back in and the boat is purrrrrinn!

Thanks for the report Mike. I think the water temp needs to jump up a bit to get the fluke bite going. t^

Have to agree, they were lazy bites...marked a couple new areas at least while I was scouting yesterday which was good because boat traffic wasn't too bad. Can't wait to see what they hold when the fishing turns on.... t^
