Had the Hotrod, his dad-Hotrod Sr, his son-Jeff and BobG with me today.
Exited the Shark River inlet and saw a fleet of boats straight out. They had birds overhead. I gave SouthPaw a call and he reported he was trolling blues just north of the fleet. We headed to where the fleet was.
Just short of reaching the fleet we started getting some good readings on the finder. Did some jigging and picked up a few blue fish and BobG pulled a short striper.
Moved south toward another flock of birds. More jigging and more blues. Got out of the fish for a little bit so decided to go on the troll.
Trolled chartrues shads and pearl shads on umbrellas. Hammered the blues and picked a few more short bass. Funny to hear grown men argueing over who was bringing in the next fish. The conversation went like this...FISH ON, BRING IT IN JEFF. NO, I BROUGHT IN THE LAST ONE, YOUR TURN!! I'M NOT BRINGING IT IN, DAD, YOUR TURN. I GOT THE ONE BEFORE THAT, YOUR TURN. TOO FUNNY! As you can tell we had a decent day with the blues.
We went back to jigging again and picked a few more blues and a keeper striper at 29 1/2 inches.
Finished the day just north of the Manasquan Inlet with the fish still biting.
All in all, it was a great day with a fantastic crew. Was nice to meet Rod's dad and son. Three generations of HotRods. t^ It was an honored to be a part of that.
PS; Rod's favorite saying today. I BET IT'S A BASS!!! TT^

Ahh. Thanks Joe!! That was another day to remember. Been years since all 3 of us have had the time to spend the day together.
Dad said It's finally nice to know someone that can catch Fish ;D and looks forward to Flukin.
Jeffrey had his best day on the water and now considers me his new fishing partner t^

Captain Joe: Thanks again for a great day of fishing. It is very seldom that you meet an individual with the expertise you displayed in the art of fishing. My son, grandson and I really enjoyed the day aboard you boat. Will certainly ask you for a fluke trip next year.
My grandson was the only one to fall asleep on the way home.
Thanks again,
HotRodSr

Awesome job fellas TT^
Rod, I see you remembered the gloves this time...Did the Coffee make it too?? ;D
-
Hi Rod Sr. It was my pleasure having you, your son and your grandson on the boat today. The crew is what makes the trip more than the catching does. (althought the catching does count)
When the fluke season gets here next year, I'm sure we can do a few trips together.
