Title: Line - what your using and for what?
Post by: bustedknuckle on April 09, 2007, 07:46:39 PM
Braid and mono. Curious what you guys are using and in what applications. Braid color and brand. Mono color and brand.
Personally I use all power pro for braid - yellow 50lb on 2 trolling outfits I drag stretches on.
Green PP on my tog setups.
Ande clear mono for livelining bunker.
1 fluke setup w/Ande, another with green PP.
Weakfish noodlerod with 10 lb fireline black.
50lb Jinkai on my partyboat tuna setup.

Love the visability of the yellow PP. Especially since its easy to pick out in a tangle on a headboat, but always think about the visibilty factor to  the fish.

Looked at the red PP recently, anyone using it and for what?  In theory it should disappear in the water.....in theory!  ;D

Hi bustedknuckle,

50 lb. Power Pro on just about everything. If I need mono, I use Izorline or Momoi.

Tight lines,

Capt. Ed

30# pp for all salt water

whille fishing wrecks i use 6 or 8 pound mono for the sinkers, if they get snagged  it breaks off easy and  hooks are thill there

Moss green Power Pro of various strengths ranging from #15-#65 depending on what I'm fishing for with the exception of the following where I use #20 Momoi Diamond H-Catch mono;

Clamming Bass
Chunking Bass
Live Lining bass (I'll use #25 Big Game Here)
Jigging Bass

For my weakfish rod I'm using 12# Cajun Red mono with a Triple fish leader.
30# PP on my fluke rod with a Hi-Seas fluorocarbon leader.
30# mono on my snagging rod.
50# PP when trolling stretches with a 15' top shot of Ande mono.

Ande #20 Pink for surf, boat, Stripers and Blues. Floro leader from #15-#25. But now with so many people now using braid or superlines, that stuff cuts through mono like a razor blade. I've had fish on out on the beach, or on open party boats, or out with freinds,  and have lost fish due to other peoples line cutting mine.(PEOPLE WITHOUT FISH ) I'm thinking about trying it myself.  <'((((><

30Lb Pp yellow On my Fluke set up's.

Same with me, except that I use the green for everything and not the yellow...
