Hi Striperboi Welcome Aboard,
I usually don't get up that far north I like to keep from Manesquane Inlet south to Barnegate Inlet. But I can tell you this today the winds are out of the south and if anyone is catching anything on the beach they are either lucky or lying.
I was over at Ortley Beach earlier and there were guys throwing but I did not see anything being caught.
The birds were working and diving about 1/8th to 1/4 mile off Lavelette but that was it.
You might want to also p[ost in the Surf Forum as well there is a few of us there as well.
If there is an answer you sure came to the right site.
Again, Welcome Aboard and keep us posted as well any news is good news even if you sis not catch a thing. We are always interested in your methods and if you are new to saltwater fishing we will politely steer you in the right direction.
Happy Catching
Paul

Andrew
you on the beach or a boat?????

i'm a hooker, and there are a bunch of places to fish. 1st if your fishing at night you have to purchase a night permit from the guard house. it cost 50.00 for the year. then try your luck in the river with clams or plugging or take the ride to north beach walk towards the water and head north to the rips, toss plugs jigs whatever. with the right winds and tides you could have a good day. i've been there when nobody else was and hade a great day
good luck ;D
