An unsettled start to the week becoming very nice by midweek and through the weekend. Water conditions will be mostly good as well. As high pressure across the Gulf Coast States pumped hot and humid air into the region this weekend, the high pressure will move off and several cold fronts will break up the heat to start the week. Monday and Tuesday will continue with heat and humidity with highs in the 90’s and only a few degrees cooler at the shore. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60’s and 70’s again with high humidity until Tuesday Night. By Tuesday Night some slightly cooler and drier air will move into the region and remain for the rest of the week. Monday and Tuesday will also have chances of scattered to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms. Precipitation accumulation will be less than 0.5 inches on average, however some of the thunderstorms could be strong to severe bringing heavy rains, locally heavier rainfall accumulation, dangerous lightning, and damaging winds. Hail and tornadoes could always be possible. By Wednesday seasonal averages will return with clear skies and some clouds mixed in for the rest of the week, highs will be back into the 80’s with overnight lows in the 60’s and low 70’s at the shore. Humidity will be moderate to high at times. Northern areas could even see overnight lows in the upper 50’s and then low 60’s. Overall, it will be more comfortable and nice! These conditions look to continue through the weekend. Water conditions will be mostly good. Monday will be good, Tuesday and Wednesday could see some borderline conditions and then good conditions again for Thursday and Friday. Even borderline conditions are only looking at the potential for some gusts to 20 knots and seas 2-4 feet with a shorter period of 6-7 seconds. Midshore to offshore waters will be borderline for most of the week, again only for winds to 20 knots and seas pushing 5 feet for a short period. Overall, the week looks good and if you are looking to get offshore, check those forecasts closely because it will be highly likely it will work. Remember to be aware of changing weather conditions on Monday and Tuesday as storms are likely to move over the water. Winds and seas will be much higher in and near thunderstorm conditions. Surf and beach conditions will be good as well with surf around 1-3 feet with a Low Risk for Rip Currents. Again, remember to check the rip current forecasts daily, follow local beach lifeguard warnings, and remember a low risk of rip currents does not mean NO risk. UV Index will be Moderate to Very High at 4-10/15.
High pressure that is anchored over the Gulf Coast States will pump hot and humid air into the region through Monday. A weak cold front will slowly progress through the Mid Atlantic States on Monday and Monday Night before a second cold front moves through Tuesday Evening. The front is expected to stall to the south, allowing high pressure to settle over the area on Wednesday through the weekend.
The weekend will continue to be dry and settled with high pressure controlling the area. Highs will be in the low to mid 80’s with overnight lows in the 60’s and 70’s. Humidity will not be as high as last (this) weekend, but could still be moderate to high at times. Water, surf and beach conditions will be good all across the board at this point.
Atlantic Tropics are quiet again!
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
