Title: Launching at Manasquan Beach
Post by: Jeremy0823 on September 28, 2015, 06:32:39 AM
Has anyone ever launched or seen someone launch a kayak from Manasquan Beach? I saw a couple guys about 100 yards out in the Atlantic in a canoe and I gotta believe they hand carried that thing across the beach. Is that legal?

I'd post in the "kayak" section but it seems it doesn't get checked very often. :(

Launching a kayak from the beach is legal. You just need to check each beaches' rules and regulations (by town). Most beaches have in-season and off-season rules for fishing, surfing, kayaking, etc... I have seen many kayaks launched in the surf, though.

Good luck!

I'd guess that they did a surf launch from the Manasquan side to get out there.
While it is possible to navigate thru the inlet with the right conditions, it's difficult and dangerous.
